Wednesday, we honored our past presidents and heard from Gator Bowl President Greg McGarity. He spoke to celebrate the Gator Bowl’s 80th anniversary, highlighting its significance as the sixth oldest bowl game in the U.S., with TaxSlayer as the title sponsor for the past 13 years.
McGarity introduced a 15-minute film showcasing iconic moments, famous coaches, and players in Gator Bowl history. He also emphasized the event’s community service efforts, such as donating laptops to local youth and supporting charitable organizations.
Additionally, McGarity noted the growing involvement of women in the organization, led by Katie Cox’s initiative, which expanded the group to 60 women. He concluded by discussing upcoming stadium renovations and the possibility of the Gator Bowl joining future college football playoffs.
