Issue 263, January 19, 2025

The Southside Businessmen’s Club was founded in 1932 in the midst of the Great Depression, when local business leaders recognized the need for unity, collaboration, and economic resilience.

Fast forward to 2019 and the COVID-19 epidemic forced many businesses to close and other having to change and reimagine how to do business. In the case of my own company Apollo Packaging through the contacts that I made through the club we were able to help fellow members with everyday items that had become difficult to find available. Other club members helped in putting us in touch of other connections to get and distribute much needed supplies to schools and hospitals.

The value in our club is within our members and the connections that we have with each other and people whom we do business with inside and outside the club.  Just like our founders recognized back in 1932 the importance in unity, collaboration and economic resilience are the backbone of our club today.

Our strength is in our numbers and the more members we can attract to our club the more opportunities we each have to grow our business and more importantly help us weather the storms that we will eventually encounter.

I encourage you to invite someone to one of our meetings or many events we have scheduled who you feel holds the same core values that we do today.

Together
Everyone
Achieves
More

Sincerely,
