Issue 254, November 10, 2024
As we approach the upcoming vote for a new slate of officers, we are reminded of the importance of the peaceful transfer of power—a principle that sustains both our country and our club. Just as the office of the U.S. president renews through the will of the people, so too does our organization gain strength from each election, bringing in new leadership or advancing officers who have shown their dedication.Serving as your president this year has been a remarkable experience, filled with meaningful interactions and a deep involvement in the workings of our club. But like all good things, my term, too, must come to a close. I am grateful for the opportunity and look forward to supporting our next leaders as they continue to shape SBMC’s legacy.
In our upcoming meeting, the nominating committee will present the recommended slate of officers and board members to the club for the coming term. This process is a valuable opportunity for every member to participate in shaping the future of SBMC. At this meeting, anyone who wishes to nominate an alternative candidate will have the chance to do so, ensuring that every member’s voice can be heard.
Once all nominations are complete, we’ll close the nomination process. The results will then be published in our next newsletter, giving everyone a chance to review the candidates before our official vote, which will take place at the December meeting.
Your participation in these meetings and the voting process is what strengthens our organization, bringing fresh perspectives and dedication to each role. Let’s work together to continue the proud legacy of the Southside Business Men’s Club. |
