Have you ever set out with a plan to build or create something and did not get the result you might have been hoping for? I think we can all relate; Country Music Singer Garth Brooks sang about unanswered prayers in 1990. Richard Branson started Virgin Atlantic Airlines after a flight cancellation to the Virgin Islands led him to charter a plane offering rides to stranded passengers, sparking the idea for a new airline. And Scottish Biologist Alexander Fleming decided he would clean out the petri dish he was using when he came back to work on Monday to find a mold that was growing, which led to the discovery of penicillin.
I believe the Southside Businessmen’s Club relates to these examples after watching the many interviews this past week by members who attended the Horse’s Mouth hosted by Tom McManus. So many of us join the club to meet, network and to grow our businesses. However, in the end, what is profoundly important to our members is not the amount of business that we may do together but the amount of good that we do together! I hope you will come to join us this Wednesday for lunch. We have a great guest speaker lined up, some great door prizes to give away, and a few ideas that I am looking forward to sharing with our members that I think will make our club even more valuable to you! Sincerely, |
